What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprentice Mechanic position at Oakmont Automotive?
Oakmont Automotive is hiring an Apprentice Mechanic / Entry-Level Automotive Technician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the automotive and light truck industry while learning from experienced technicians in a busy shop environment.
We are a busy 5-bay shop servicing cars, SUVs, and trucks, and we are willing to train the right candidate.
5 to 6 day work week 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, Saturday hours at 8 am until 1-2 pm.
No tools needed but would be expected to eventually buy your basic tools.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Interest in automotive repair as a career
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Pennsylvania Safety & Emissions licenses are a plus, but not required to start
What You’ll Do:
- Oil changes and routine maintenance
- Tire installation and repairs
- Battery replacement
- Basic vehicle inspections, and recommending services and under hood checks
- Brakes, steering, suspension, alignments, and additional repairs based on experience and training

Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Some Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 1:00/2:00 PM

Pay: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour
