Position Summary
- Ability to communicate verbally, basic knowledge of tractor trailers, ability to climb safely to 14ft or more while working in wet conditions at times.
- Manage trailer movements on Oakley terminal property using a yard truck daily.
- Anticipate the needs of the shops and service them accordingly via trailer movements to required Service Bay/area.
- Organize the drop yard and be comfortable with making multiple hookups throughout the day.
- Comfortable with working in tight area and parking trailers close.
- Perform daily pre trip inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after shifts.
- Maintain proper fluids/fuel levels. Complete paperwork to maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate work tasks with Manager/Supervisor as well as with other departments as needed, to insure the smooth and efficient flow of work.
- Coordinate by communicating with shop to bring and return trailers for the repair process.
- Maintain the yard for maximum parking, and organization, shop movement for repairs is priority, to ensure productivity of technicians.
- Reports to management any found damages or incidents while operating on the campus.
- When directed, capable to use forklift. Training will be provided.
- Maintain cleanliness of the yard trucks, no trash or unauthorized items left in cab.
- Any special projects that are in the best interest of Oakley Transport.
