OakLeaf Clinics - Houskeeping has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Housekeeper for our OakLeaf Clinics - OakLeaf Pediatrics location! Our healthcare team consists of physicians, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical assistants working in concert with laboratory/imaging services to offer individualized care to the Chippewa Valley and surrounding areas.
Position description
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning patient rooms, offices, and maintaining common areas of the clinic, including entrances, waiting rooms, hallways, and restrooms. Duties include vacuuming, wiping down counters and sinks, and ensuring all areas are tidy and free from hazards. This role also assists with restocking supplies by monitoring, ordering, and replenishing cleaning supplies and toiletries in designated areas as needed. The Housekeeper is expected to adhere to all safety and health regulations, report maintenance issues or safety hazards, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow proper procedures for the safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Clean patient rooms, including vacuuming, wiping down counters, and cleaning sink
- Deep clean areas on a rotating schedule to ensure cleanliness and hygiene
- Clean vacuum, sweep, and maintain common and public areas of the clinic, including clinic entrance, waiting rooms, hallways, and restrooms, ensuring they are tidy and free from hazards
- Monitor, order, and replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries in patient rooms and other designated areas as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department for prompt resolution
- Comply with all safety and health regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting, preferred
- Familiarity with various cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals used in healthcare environments
- Keen eye for detail to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move heavy objects
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
- Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to meeting work schedules
- Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and other hospital staff
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle emergency cleaning situations as they arise
- Good verbal communication skills to interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
