Job Description ABOUT OUMS: OUMS is a small, safe, supportive middle school located in the heart of Deep East Oakland, California. High expectations of all stakeholders create an environment in which students develop the academic skills and habits to succeed in the future. OUMS’ experienced leadership and dedicated staff and teachers offer unwavering support to cultivate a nurturing school experience. See further description here. QUALIFICATIONS -Hold a Valid California Teaching Credential, or -Be enrolled in a teaching intern program -Have the passion and commitment to work with low-income, inner-city youth to help them become first-generation college-goers -Want to be part of a small school community where everyone on campus feels responsible for the success of all students. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS -Full Salary Scale linked here -Full health benefits (medical, dental and vision) with no employee contribution for the employee and qualifying dependents -Credentialed teachers enrolled in the California State Teachers Retirement System (CALSTRS) -Option of 403B enrollment 3% matched 457(b) retirement saving contribution after three years of employment -Relocation assistance of up to $2,000 Start date: August 1, 2026.
