Job Summary:
Ensures safety of members and guests at the Club pool by utilizing certified lifeguard techniques. Keeps pool area and locker rooms neat, clean, and stocked, provides swim lessons as requested, and ensures members and guests have fun and experience extraordinary customer services. Must be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilizes certified lifeguard techniques such as scanning pool area every 30 seconds and looking for signs of swimmers struggling or drowning.
- Uses certified lifeguard techniques to carry out saves.
- Executes preventative measures to avoid accidents such as redirecting swimmers verbally and reinforcing rules.
- Ensures pool area and locker rooms are kept neat, clean and stocked at all times, and assists with keeping tennis and shack areas clean as well.
- Performs pool chemical checks using water test kits and records readings. Reports imbalances to supervisor.
- Maintains pool equipment and gear, towels, sunscreen, etc. neatly and fully stocked, and stores appropriately at end of shift.
- Teaches swimming lessons as requested.
- Encourages members and guests to participate in pool activities.
- Provides extraordinary customer service by greeting guests proactively, offering assistance as needed, smiling and making eye contact, and anticipating needs.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Lifeguard Certification
- CPR and AED Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Demonstrates excellence in the following areas: Attendance, Teamwork, Work Ethic, Positive Attitude, Professional Appearance and Demeanor, Communication Skills, Relationship with other staff, Relationship with Supervisors/Management, Dedication to delivering excellence to members, Follows all policies and procedures.
