What You’ll Do
- Review, verify, and process a wide variety of real estate documents for recording.
- Assist the public, title companies, and other stakeholders with real estate transactions and related inquiries.
- Calculate redemption amounts for Sheriff or Clerk deeds, document actions, and process deed redemptions.
- Support other units within the Register of Deeds Division as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Contribute to the accuracy and reliability of official property and real estate records.
- Develop strong clerical and customer service skills while working in a professional office setting.
- Gain valuable knowledge of real estate transactions, property law, and government processes.
- Be part of a supportive team that values accuracy, accountability, and public service.
Required Minimum Qualifications
At the time of application, applicants must:
- Be a high school graduate OR have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development Test.
- Have had at least two (2) years of responsible full-time clerical experience, one (1) of which included processing court documents or real estate documents.
- Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for the class of Real Estate Recording Clerk.
- Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
