General Summary

Do you enjoy being the go-to person who keeps projects organized and running smoothly?Join Oakland County’s Information Technology team as a Project Support Specialist and play a vital role in connecting project teams, County departments, and municipal partners. In this position, you’ll facilitate communication, provide training, document key processes, and help solve technical challenges all while ensuring projects stay on track and deliver value to the community.

What You'll Do:

• Act as the main point of contact for project communications between IT teams, County departments, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate and assist with training County personnel on personal computer hardware and software usage.
• Prepare and maintain user manuals, guides, and other project documentation.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the project team to ensure smooth operations.
• Help resolve customer issues or escalate to higher-level IT personnel when needed.
• Document user difficulties, identify trends, and make recommendations to prevent future issues

Required Minimum Qualifications

What You’ll Need:

1. Must be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test; AND

2. Have had four (4) years of increasingly responsible clerical experience involving procedure, technical report writing, and/or direct assistance to operating departments.

3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for the class of Project Support Specialist.

4. Satisfactorily complete the six-month probationary period.

Salary : $45,246 - $60,621
