Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist patients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is vital in delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment, such as a Level II Trauma Center or teaching hospital.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Provide catheter care and ensure proper aseptic techniques are followed.
- Support nursing staff in emergency medicine situations as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
- Assist in the mobility of patients, including transferring them safely to different areas within the facility.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Skills
- Proficient in monitoring vital signs and understanding basic medical terminology.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine procedures and protocols.
- Experience with catheter care and aseptic techniques is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work compassionately with individuals who have developmental disabilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
