Household Assistant

Seeking a dedicated, positive, and adaptable Household Assistant to oversee the daily operations of a household for an elderly couple. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the smooth functioning of the household. Day-to-day tasks include provisioning grocery and household items, coordinating with service vendors for home improvements and outdoor operations, and providing excellent support with meal planning and preparation. This role would be a great for somehow who enjoys meal planning and cooking. The Household Assistant should feel comfortable working with in-home healthcare aids, a primarily Spanish speaking housekeeping staff, and various other support members in outdoor operations. A successful candidate will have a “can-do attitude” with the mentality that no task is too small; this role requires support with housekeeping and caregiving as needed. The Household Assistant will have a close relationship to the family in the house and will report directly to the husband and wife who are the principals in the home. This candidate should feel comfortable spending much of the time working around the couple, one of which is primarily homebound with designated healthcare aids. Typical hours will be 11am-7pm.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provision all grocery, household items, and cleaning supplies as needed.

- Keep the home in an organized fashion due to very frequent visitors and house guests.

- Coordinate with outdoor operations and maintenance of the household.

- Plan and organize meals for 2-10 people per meal, ensuring nutritional balance and variety.

- Provide meal preparation and cooking.

- Support with overall caregiving.

- Communicate with housekeeping staff regarding scheduling needs. Proactively coordinate calendars of household staff to best benefit the running of the household.

- Promote a clean and orderly environment within the household. Assist with light housekeeping.

- Maintain awareness of family members’ and guests’ schedules to accommodate mealtime plans.

Qualifications:

- Valid driver’s license and papers to work in the U.S. - must be able to pass background check.

- Optimistic, caring personality and willingness to support the family in an above-and-beyond mentality.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals (CEO’s, housekeepers *Spanish is a plus*), wide-spanning extended family).

- Reliable transportation and personal car.

- Live a commutable distance from Berwyn, PA.

- Must physically be able to do household related tasks like carrying packages, groceries, etc.

- Ideally proficient in Spanish to facilitate communication with housekeeping and landscaping staff.

- Previous experience working in a home as a housekeeper, in-home health care aid, chef, or other private-service role.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

-Someone who has no ego and enjoys being of service with a positive, flexible, compassionate attitude.

Benefits:

-Salary $70,000 based on experience

-May be eligible for paid time-off and W-9 contract
