What are the responsibilities and job description for the FY27 Director of Student Supports position at Oak Ridge School District?
STUDENTS SERVED UNDER MCKINNEY VENTO (MKV):
- Schedule, coordinate, and conduct best interest determination meetings.
- Enter the proper coding in ORS EIS system for all qualifying students under MKV.
- Continously keep an updated list of all students being served under MKV for each building.
- Coordinate support with the family resource center when necessary.
- Work with TORCH in Oak Ridge when necessary.
- Support foster families in the enrollment process.
- Update the annual transportation plan for students served under MKV due May 1.
STUDENTS SERVED UNDER ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE:
- Oversee Title III of migrant, immigrant, and RSL students at every building.
- TN Pulse Administer for Individual Learning Plans.
- Oversee coordination of all interpreter services through our 3rd party vendors.
- Collaborate with academic coorindators to plan professional learning in for ESL in alignment with district goals.
- Complete TELSA yearly plan with stakeholders.
- Coordinate curriculum supports for ESL (standards, texts, software, new assessments).
- Supports Federal Programs Director in the completion of Title III funding application and monitoring annually.
- Leads the ILP montoring annually.
- Review cumulative records for required ESL documentation.
- Plans and facilities ESL district-wide family engagement events.
- Respond to and lead any state or federal monitoring in the area of ESL/ELL.
NON-RESIDENT STUDENT SUPPORTS:
- Direct, lead, and facilitate the annual open enrollment window for Oak Ridge Schools.
- Create all annual forms for tuition and cross-boundary students.
- Work with the business office to ensure proper payment plans for tuition students.
- Work with the Ex. Direct of Educational Leadership regarding open seats for each April's open enrollment window.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Reports to the Executive Director of Students Services.
- Lead the Early Kindergarten registration process for students whose birthdays fall between August 15th and September 30th.
- Perform Title IX investigations in collaboration with the Title IX coordinator.
- Sreve as secondary court liaison and secondary DCS point of contact.
- Serve as primary discipline hearing board member.
- Lead families in proof of residency process in abnormal enrollment situations.
- Provide PD to staff in needed areas regarding student support services as necessary.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for building administration.
- Any additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent or the Executive Director of Student Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Tennessee Teachers license with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
- Valid Tennessee Administrators license.
- Administrative experience preferred.
- Central Office Administrative experience preferred.
- Salary paid in accordance with the District Exempt Salary schedule Lane 36.
Salary is based FY26 pay scale and will change after BOE approval.
Salary : $113,654 - $158,006
