Description
Completes all paperwork in the medical department (including but not limited to: forms, prescriptions, prior authorizations). Assists patients and providers with all return phone calls, including scheduling appointments for patients to specialists.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works with the team to assure that Oak Orchard patients are given top priority both personally and professionally. The patients and providers daily needs are met through appropriate systems and the highest level of patient services.
- Requests and reviews medical records in order to complete all forms.
- Answers telephone inquiries and/or messages concerning status of forms.
- Copies all completed forms and places with chart to be filed.
- Calls in prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Primary communicator of lab, x-ray and provider instructions to patient.
- Functions in the daily role of LPN/MA as assigned.
- Relates effectively to providers and staff.
- Maintains accurate nursing notes on patient’s medical record according to guidelines in “Documentation in the Patient Record”.
- Cross training with Metcare RX. Tech.
- Participates in meetings as assigned.
- Maintains a safe, clean, orderly work area.
- Any other reasonable requests by management.

Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- 1-2 years working in a medical office preferred
- Experience with electronic health record systems
