Celebrating our 50th anniversary this year, Oak Meadow continues to be a small, vibrant family-owned business. We are a K-12 secular homeschool curriculum publisher and an accredited distance-learning school. A core of employees work from Putney VT, with other employees plus our student, family and school communities spanning the globe.
The Human Resources & Payroll Administrator handles all aspects of employees' benefits, leave and payroll, and is also the primary point of contact for employees, ensuring that 'each person is heard, valued and engaged.'
Primary responsibilities:
- First and foremost, be a knowledgeable, compassionate and collaborative resource and advocate for your co-workers - listen to their concerns, respond to questions, work with them to find solutions
- Help to foster a good work culture and environment
- Ensure compliance with federal employment laws, and for laws and insurances in all states where employees reside
- Manage employee benefits and leave
- Support the hiring and onboarding process of new employees, including advertising, background check, and employment forms.
- Handle all aspects of the payroll process
- Research and promote professional development opportunities for faculty and staff
Required Skills:
- Superb interpersonal and communication skills (listening, verbal & written).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Experience in managing conflict resolution
- Experience with identifying concerns and issues; and effective, collaborative problem-solving
- Proficient with G Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 3-5 years of experience in the Human Resources field, with increasing responsibilities
The pay range for this 32 hour per week, benefited position is $25 to $30 per hour. This is an onsite position, in Putney, Vermont with the possibility of becoming a hybrid position after 6 months..
