What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Store Manager position at Oak Island Exchange?
About the store
Oak Island Exchange is a locally owned furniture and coastal lifestyle shop for residents, vacation homeowners, and visitors. We sell reclaimed boatwood furniture, home décor, sporting goods, local art, and one-of-a-kind finds. Inventory moves. Displays matter. Customers expect friendly, low-pressure help. We're hiring a Part-Time Store Manager who likes people, has an eye for merchandising, and can run the floor when ownership isn't on site — with the potential to grow into full time.
The role
You're the day-to-day lead for the store on your scheduled shifts: sales, customer follow-up, inventory prep, visual merchandising, scheduling a small part-time team, and light community outreach. You'll typically oversee 1–2 part-time sales associates and be the main contact for staff when ownership is away. This starts as a part-time role, with the potential to grow into full time as the store and fit allow.
Store hours
- Tuesday–Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Closed Mondays
You're not required to work Sundays, but you should be reachable if staff need you. Most Saturdays you'll cover the busy stretch — usually open through early afternoon. Exact part-time hours will be set with ownership based on store needs and your availability.
