Scuba Now is looking for an energetic, dependable person to join our team.
This isn't a typical retail job. You'll help customers, manage online and on-demand sales, learn about scuba equipment, assist with pool and lake operations, and have the opportunity to train and develop as a diver.
No scuba experience is required for the right person. We'll train you.
For a dependable, long-term employee interested in becoming a dive professional, Scuba Now also offers the opportunity to work toward Divemaster, with a complete training and development package valued at approximately $8,000.

Applicants must have reliable transportation and be willing to work at both our Wilmington and Shallotte locations when scheduled.
What You'll Do
This is a hands-on position with plenty of variety. Responsibilities may include:
- Welcome customers and help them select the right scuba equipment
- Learn about and demonstrate scuba products
- Assist with online sales and our on-demand retail operation
- Answer customer questions by phone, online, and in person
- Help keep the shop, pool, equipment areas, and dive facilities organized
- Assist students and instructors during pool and lake training
- Learn scuba equipment setup, care, and basic maintenance
- Fill scuba cylinders after completing required training
- Safely move, load, and unload scuba cylinders and equipment
- Prepare equipment for classes and diving activities
- Assist instructors and Divemasters during training
- Help with pool and private dive-lake operations
- Assist with inventory and equipment
- Help create social media content, photos, and videos
- Provide friendly, professional customer service
- Help wherever needed to keep our diving operation running smoothly
Opportunity to Become a Divemaster
For the right employee who wants to pursue professional scuba diving, Scuba Now offers a Divemaster training and development package valued at approximately $8,000.
Becoming a Divemaster isn't an overnight certification. It requires training, diving experience, skill development, professionalism, and commitment. Depending on the individual, the complete development process may take a year or longer.
You'll have the opportunity to learn while working alongside experienced dive professionals and participating in real-world pool, lake, retail, equipment, and student-training operations.
This opportunity is intended for an employee who demonstrates reliability, commitment, professionalism, and a genuine interest in becoming part of Scuba Now long-term.
Schedule
Part-time with flexible scheduling.
Off Season
Primarily weekday hours in Wilmington, generally scheduled during normal daytime operations.
Typical responsibilities include online sales, our on-demand store, customer service, equipment, pool operations, social media, inventory, and preparation for the upcoming dive season.
Dive Season — Approximately May 15 through September 30
Weekend availability is important during scheduled scuba classes and lake operations.
Some scheduled weekends may require:
Saturday & Sunday — approximately 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Not every weekend will necessarily be scheduled. However, employees in this position must be available for assigned training weekends during the dive season.

You don't need to arrive as a scuba expert.
We can teach scuba skills. What we're looking for are qualities that are harder to teach: reliability, commitment, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

- Be comfortable in and around water
- Be a capable swimmer
- Have an interest in scuba diving and the underwater world
- Be eager to learn
- Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
- Be physically capable of safely moving scuba cylinders and equipment
- Be comfortable with occasional long days during scheduled dive weekends
- Have reliable transportation
- Be willing to work at both Wilmington and Shallotte locations
- Be comfortable using computers and learning online systems
- Be comfortable assisting with social media
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Be willing to take responsibility and help where needed
- Be interested in becoming part of our team long-term
Already scuba certified? That's a plus, but it's not required for the right candidate.
