Electrician Position Summary
Performs installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, fire alarm support systems, emergency power systems, and related equipment throughout Oak Hammock residential, commons, and health pavilion facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant operations.
Electrician Responsibilities And Duties
Electrical Systems Maintenance
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, panels, and controls in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC), state/local codes, and facility standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance on lighting systems, receptacles, branch circuits, feeders, panels, and transfer switches.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, or code non‑compliance and initiate corrective actions.
- Replace ballasts, drivers, lamps, switches, receptacles, breakers, and related components.
- Perform load balancing, circuit testing, grounding verification, and voltage diagnostics.
- Assist with testing, maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting of emergency generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), battery systems, and related equipment under direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Conduct routine inspections and monthly testing support per regulatory and accreditation standards.
Electrician Job Qualifications And Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Electrical trade schooling, apprenticeship completion, or current State of Florida electrical licensure preferred.
- 3–5 years of commercial or residential electrical maintenance experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and code references.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues safely and effectively.
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with good driving record.
