Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraprofessional to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will work closely with teachers and students to create a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment in both a schoolhouse and a forest setting. This includes working one-on-one or in small groups, supporting classroom and forest activities. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster student engagement and growth, especially for children with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to students in general and specific students requiring more assistance.
- Support teachers in student engagement and foster greater participation.
- Be present and engaged with all student learning experiences.
- Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, and maintaining a safe and positive space.
- Show initiative and adaptability to changing needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and education best practices.
- Familiarity with special education strategies and working with students who need individualized approaches.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students.
- Ability to support children's social-emotional growth through positive behavior management strategies.
- Relevant experience working with children with autism or other developmental differences is highly desirable.
- Strong desire to work with students in an outdoor setting in all seasons.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 13.0 per week
