O'Gorman High School
6:00am-2:30pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote the mission of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic Schools
- Perform custodial duties such as cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, gyms, cafeteria, kitchen, etc.
- Responsible for unlocking doors and turning on television monitors and lights each day
- Maintaining and beautifying the O’Gorman campus grounds and landscaping such as mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, turf maintenance, snow removal, etc.
- Maintenance of the athletic complex such as fieldhouse, restrooms, concessions, bleachers, storage buildings, etc.
- Work with vendors on stadium grounds such as fertilization, seeding, aeration, insect control, sprinkler system, etc.
- Maintenance of all grounds equipment such as tractors, mowers, snow removal equipment, etc.
- Responsible for assisting with the removal of snow from all sidewalks and entrance areas.
- Apply salt and sand to walkways during the winter months
- Assist coaches with the markings on the fields
- Help cover school events and rentals on the weekends when available
- Assist head custodian with general set up and take down of equipment, staging, risers, band shell, tables, and chairs for all events at or related to the school
- Assist the head custodian with all maintenance needs
- Perform various duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Essential Qualifications:
- Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church’s teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position
- Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church

- Handyman skill set
- Knowledge and skills in maintenance and use grounds equipment
- Knowledge and skills in cleaning supplies and equipment

- Understands how role relates to the whole picture
- Ability to climb ladders, lift at least 50 lbs., and operate heavy machinery
- Ability to communicate with contractors – roofers, plumbers, electricians, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work daytime hours, primarily Monday-Friday

- Ability to hear and distinguish sounds, including speech, alarms and other work environment sounds
- Fine hand motor skills to include and not limited to keyboarding, writing, grasping, holding, and repetitive motion
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, and walk through work day
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly
- Ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to intermittently bend, squat, and reach overhead
