This is a full-time, on-site role located in New York, NY. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and standards. Key duties include maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, preparing budgets, analyzing financial data, and collaborating with internal teams for financial planning. The Accountant will also oversee payroll processing, assist with audits, and ensure timely tax filing and reporting.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and general ledger management
- Skills in reconciling accounts, tax preparation, and audit processes
- Experience with accounting software and analytical tools
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification or equivalent is a plus
- Prior accounting experience in a nonprofit organization is preferred
