Global CMM Operator B 2nd Shift

Primary Function:
Plan and make inspection set ups for castings, molds, or wax patterns to perform first article inspections
using the Global 121510 Performance coordinate measuring machine to provide data.

Tools and Equipment:
Global 121510 Performance CMM, Metris scanner, cad files, PC-DMIS software, InnovMetric
Polyworks/Modeler software, iges and step files, etc.

Material:
Aluminum, copper and brass castings, wax molds, etc.

Direction of Others:
May be required to provide technical guidance and assistance to other employees.

With guidance and supervision from the Quality Assurance staff,
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF
OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT.
1 Shall adhere to all safety requirements as posted on the job safety card.
2 Shall consistently follow all applicable work instructions.
3 Shall receive instruction and daily work assignments from the Quality Assurance staff.
4 Shall analyze drawing requirements relative to general dimensioning and tolerancing.
5 Shall determine features to be checked such as diameters, angles, radii, or distance of holes using
x, y, or z axis, determining proper starting point, and positioning part accordingly, using standard
geometries.
6 Shall be familiar with precision measurement equipment (pingages, micrometer and calipers) in
order to make necessary dimensional checks.
7 Shall interpret all data generated by the Global CMM determining casting compliance to the blue
print or cad files.
8 Shall be proficient in the use of CMM software,3D Modeling software, transfering
cad files, generating cloud files and creating best fit or datum point reports.
9 Shall maintain all required inspection records and files, where accuracy is paramount.
10 Shall attend and successfully complete hazardous material / waste handling classes.
11 Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition, and keep noise level to a minimum.
12 Shall perform other duties as assigned.
13 Shall have a strong ethical background.

Special Skills Required:
Requires as a minimum experience in cad modeling, interpret blueprint (2D Drawing) , and the equivalent
in demonstrated experience.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Requires a working knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
Must know some software programming.
Must have 20 / 25 near vision (correctable).
