About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Blend Weld Technician on 2nd shift to join our team. In this role, you will perform precision blending and weld finishing operations to ensure parts meet strict quality and dimensional requirements. This position is critical in delivering high-quality components for demanding industries such as aerospace and defense.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blending, grinding, and polishing operations on welded components to meet blueprint and specification requirements
- Remove excess weld material and refine surfaces to achieve required contour and finish
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and engineering specifications
- Inspect parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances
- Use precision hand tools and power tools such as grinders, sanders, and polishers
- Identify and report defects or non-conformances to supervisors
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Support cross-functional teams and assist with additional finishing or welding-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in blending, grinding, welding, or metal finishing preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and handle parts of varying sizes and weights
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks requiring precision and focus
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and metal particulates
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
- Operation of grinding and finishing equipment requiring strict adherence to safety standards
Salary : $23 - $28
