Overview
O’Donnell Vein & Laser is a premier vascular and aesthetics practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins, and comprehensive cosmetic services. Led by Dr. Kelly O’Donnell, we deliver patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on outcomes, education, and long-term wellness.
We operate two locations (Annapolis and Easton) and serve patients across Anne Arundel, Talbot, Queen Anne’s, Kent, Caroline, Dorchester, Wicomico, and surrounding counties. As we expand our referral network, we are seeking a dynamic Physician Liaison to strengthen relationships with local medical providers and increase awareness of vein disease.
Position Summary
The Physician Liaison is responsible for developing, managing, and growing referral relationships with primary care providers and key specialists. The role centers on educating medical offices about vein disease symptoms, diagnostic pathways, and OVL’s treatment capabilities while helping practices identify appropriate patients for referral.
This is a field-based, relationship-driven position requiring strong communication skills, initiative, and the ability to influence decision-makers within a medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Physician & Practice Outreach
- Conduct regular visits to primary care, specialty, and multispecialty practices to educate teams on chronic venous insufficiency and OVL services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, office managers, referral staff, and clinical teams.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on vein disease symptoms, referral indicators, duplex ultrasound, and OVL’s treatment model.
Referral Development
- Create and execute a territory business plan to identify high-potential referring practices.
- Drive new patient referrals through consistent education, follow-up, and practice engagement.
- Log outreach activities and track referral progress using OVL’s CRM/territory management tools.
Events, Trainings & Visibility
- Organize and host Lunch-and-Learns, Breakfast-and-Learns, mini-seminars, and CME events.
- Represent OVL at community events, health fairs, and professional meetings.
- Partner with OVL marketing leadership on co-branded materials and practice-specific outreach campaigns.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with clinical, scheduling, and marketing teams to ensure seamless referral handling.
- Provide insights on referral patterns, barriers, and opportunities.
- Support initiatives that enhance patient experience, referral conversion rates, and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in physician relations, medical sales, pharmaceutical sales, or healthcare outreach preferred.
- Familiarity with medical office operations and referral workflows.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in the field.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
