This position focuses on field inspections and documentation rather than preparing final valuation reports, making it ideal for a retired or semi-retired licensed commercial appraiser seeking a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled on-site inspections of commercial properties throughout the Chicago area.
- Capture clear interior and exterior photographs to document property condition and improvements.
- Measure buildings and record construction type, layout, condition, and notable property features.
- Prepare accurate field notes and submit photographs, measurements, and inspection reports promptly.
- Coordinate inspection appointments with property owners, tenants, or site representatives.
- Report access issues, safety concerns, or significant property observations to the appraisal team.
- Represent O'Connor & Associates professionally during all property visits.
Qualifications Required:
- Current Illinois Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License (IDFPR).
- Experience inspecting commercial real estate.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency using smartphones, digital cameras, and Microsoft Office.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Chicago area.
