Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cook's Helper.

In this role, the successful candidate Performs routine general service tasks in kitchen cafeteria dining room dish room and patient areas.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assembles food trays for regular & modified diets per patient diet order/request.
• Fosters an environment that promotes teamwork.
• Completed production sheets and temperature logs as needed.
• Pans prepared food per production sheets and labels properly.
• Prepares cold foods such as salads desserts, sandwiches etc for patients cafeteria catered functions according to production sheets and written/oral instructions.
• Sets up stations before meal service.
• Sweeps/mops floor & performs assigned special cleaning duties.
• Washes pots according to pot washing instructions and fills out logs.
• Collects/disposes of trash/garbage as needed.
• Collects all soiled trays and returns them to dish room in a timely manner.
• Prepares & delivers late trays to patients on the units and ER.
• Tends & loads dish machine
• Maintains established dept Policies and Procedures objective QI programs safety environment & IC standards.
• Assists with catering events as needed.
• Delivers patients' nourishments to nurse pantries in timely/ accurate manner.
• Cleans & sanitizes work areas storage areas pantries floors refrigerators equipment.
• Visits patient for verbal menu selection.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Ability to read, write, speak English and follow oral/ written directions.

Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hospital and /or food service experience desirable.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $50,100.00 - $50,100.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
