Duties Description

Under the direction of an Information Metrics supervisor, the student assistant will assist in recording, analyzing, and tracking project-based data for IT projects across the NYS IT project portfolio.

These Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Assist with reviewing project scope and cost plans to ensure all deliverables are accurately reflected within the project record
• Assist with reviewing new project requests to ensure completeness for governance review based on NYS requirements
• Assist with reviewing Project Change requests for completeness prior to governance review based on NYS requirements
• Work with finance teams such as procurement, budgeting, AR, and AP to acquire a general understanding of NYS procurement laws and workflow
• Assist with developing training materials and process documentation for use by teams external to ITS Finance office
• Give presentations and write reports based on data analysis assignments given

• Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Organized, Detail Oriented, and able to multi-task
• Course Work in Business Analysis, Data analysis, Finance, Accounting, Contract Management, and/or Policy and Administration.
• Eager to learn with positive attitude
• Experience in using MS Excel and Office Suite
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.
  
  

Additional Comments

ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. This position can be part time or full time.
