NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the tax revenue laws of the city fairly, efficiently, and transparently to instill public confidence and encourage compliance while providing exceptional customer service.
DOF's Administration and Planning Division is responsible for managing and overseeing administrative and operational services for the agency. This includes the daily management of the Offices of Financial Management, Purchasing and Contracts, Operational Services, and Diversity and Inclusion.
The Office of Financial Management is responsible for monitoring and controlling the agency’s finances. This includes the development and management of annual expense and capital budgets, accounts payable, travel requests, and other payments. The division also includes the Assigned Counsel Plan (ACP) Payments Unit, which is responsible for processing payment vouchers for 18-b attorneys and experts.
The Department of Finance (DOF) currently occupies over 1 million square feet of space in 12 buildings in the five boroughs. The Office of Operational Services coordinates and directs all facilities-related operational support services for both public and privately leased properties agency-wide, including space planning, telecommunications, security, fire safety, health and safety, fleet, and transportation operations. The division also includes the agency warehouse, print shop, and mailroom operations.
Responsibilities
The Warehouse and Customer Delivery Services Unit is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Laborer to assist in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Supervisor, the selected candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed between the City and the Collective Bargaining Unit representing employees serving in the civil service title.

Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.

The Warehouse and Customer Delivery Services Unit is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Laborer to assist in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Supervisor, the selected candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Under supervision, assemble all available materials required to complete daily assigned work orders.
- Delivery of all requested supplies or materials necessary to complete daily work orders.
- Removal of salvage materials and the breakdown of bulk furniture and equipment for disposal in dumpsters, where all salvage paperwork, if applicable, must match the equipment being disposed of, especially IT hardware.
- Assist with maintaining the warehouse inventory.
- Transport materials and assist with the installation of heavy equipment, computers and furniture.
- Respond to a variety of facility work order requests such as minor painting, lock repair, floor repair, and sit- stand desks when needed.
- Assist in the cleaning of warehouse space.
- Operate agency vehicles.
- Other duties as needed.
