Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN)- Interventional Radiology (Float)
Location: New Hyde Park and Patchogue, NY
Hours/Days: 4/10 Hour Shifts; Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday (Between 7-7)
Organization: New York Imaging (NYI)
In This Role, You Will
- Start and Maintain IV’s for Radiology procedures including but not limited to CT scans and PET/CT scans.
- Monitor and chart vital signs, weight and height
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
- Conduct cancer research to enhance treatment protocols assigned to cancer patients.
- Provide supportive resources for the patient and the families to promote a positive outlook.
- Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
- Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis.
- Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
- Complete MAR after treatment.
- Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.
- Travel to NYI locations in New Hyde Park and Patchogue for patent care needs
- Valid New York State RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYI locations for patient care needs
- Salary: Starting at $51/hr per hour based on experience
