JOB DESCRIPTION
NY Enrichment Group is seeking several Chess Instructors to lead classes for elementary, junior high, and high school students for our charter school partners. Successful candidates will be supporting students while fostering and cultivating their desire to learn and play chess. Instructors must be able to successfully adopt a creative learning environment approach while promoting flexible thinking skills, and instilling values of respect, team, and passion. Instructors will model and inspire a love of learning that will equip each student to succeed in school and in the community. Candidates must be enthusiastic and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to the communities we serve, and demonstrate the ability to motivate and educate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Facilitate Chess classes that follow a social group work model
· Responsible for managing a classroom of 15-20 students
· Build and implement a rigorous chess curriculum for students that begins with chess basics
· Establish clear objectives for all lessons and communicate those objectives to students.
· Building a classroom culture and promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have prior performance experience
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reports to Director of Operations

- May 9, 16, 23, 30
- 3:00pm-4:30pm
- Woodside, NYAdditional programming will arise with other NYEG partners once the candidate begins.This is a Freelance position!
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $100.00 - $115.00 per day
