Kitchen Manager

NY Bakery & Desserts is a busy, high-volume bakery in Midtown Manhattan looking for an experienced, hands-on Bakery Production Lead / Back of House Supervisor to join our team.

This is a full-time leadership position for someone who can keep daily bakery production organized, lead the kitchen team, control order accuracy, and work actively alongside the staff.

We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and proactive person with experience in a bakery, kitchen, commissary, or food production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate bakery/kitchen production staff during daily operations
• Make sure orders are prepared accurately, packed correctly, and completed on time
• Check final packaging, product quality, and order presentation
• Perform daily inventory checks and prepare supply/purchasing lists
• Monitor production levels, reduce waste, and help control food costs
• Support the team hands-on with baking, prep, organization, and production
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient kitchen environment
• Keep the production flow smooth during high-volume periods
• Communicate clearly with team members and management

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, commissary kitchen, or food production facility
• Prior experience as a lead, supervisor, kitchen manager, or production lead is preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, responsible, and proactive
• Comfortable leading a team while also working hands-on
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work actively during the shift

This is not a desk-only supervisor role. The right candidate must be ready to work side by side with the production team and help keep operations moving.

Compensation: $23–$28 per hour, depending on experience
