What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Technician position at NWL, Inc.?
• Consults with management to determine hardware, communications and operations needs and requirements.
• Consults with the programming staff to determine the hardware, data communications, computer operations, PC software, and cabling requirement associated with development projects.
• Evaluates and recommends agreements for outside services, including data communications, cabling, offset data storage, equipment maintenance and repair, software support, and other services.
• Administers agreements with outside vendors and assures quality and cost effectiveness.
• Establishes policies, procedures and standards with regard to PC hardware, PC software levels, data communications, media library, operation system levels, and the methods for maintaining their currency.
• Configures and installs communications and PC hardware and software, performs problem diagnosis, and recommends solutions.
• Installs and upgrades operating software and server platforms.
• Recommends hardware/software solutions for short-range problems and to support long range technology planning.
• Provides user support, including problem diagnosis and resolutions in all the above areas.
• Front line Endpoint support for Cyber Security related issues, training and enforcement.
• Executes Cyber Security & IT online training modules for User base.
• Executes Cyber Security awareness testing modules.
• Collaborates with the security team to perform tests and find Cyber Security related weaknesses.
• Works with management to develop best practices.
• Trains End user base on IT security procedures.

• Must be able to deal with all levels of management and personnel
• Must have proven ability to analyze and solve problems
• Must have demonstrated experience with a multitude of hardware, PC software, and operating systems
• Must have project management experience
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in both a standard office environment and an industrial manufacturing environment. Employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
