Role Description
The Forge Shop Helper assists the Hammer Operators, Press Operators, and other shop co-workers in various and diverse forgings based on customer, company, and/or industry specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
' Incorporate and uphold NW Manufacturing Group LLC core values and policies.
' Follow all forging instructions and safety protocols.
' Transfer workpieces to and from workstations using tongs or hoist.
' Remove and/or trim scale, excess material, using appropriate tools.
' Mark material as required per instructions.
' Lift, load or move dies using hoist and wrenches.
' Perform basic maintenance as necessary to maintain safety, output, and quality .
' Check forgings for visual defects ' must be able to perform dimensional inspection of work to controlling drawings.
' Work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
' Interact with co-workers in an appropriate manner.
' Sufficient computer skills to be able to log in and out of ERP program.
' Produce quality work efficiently, and with on time delivery.
' Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
' Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
' Working knowledge of various hand tools, wrenches, sockets, impact wrenches, gauges, rules, scales, calipers, micrometers
' Ability to communicate both orally and in written form
' Manufacturing experience or hammer experience, a plus
' Experience working in an ISO environment, a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

' Lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, multiple times during shifts, 75 lbs., with assistance.
' Stand and walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces.
' Use hand and arm strength for forging equipment and tools.
' Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for tasks and work area access.
' Work in a noisy, industrial setting with heat, cold, dust, and fumes exposure.
' Wear required PPE such as safety glass
ITAR REQUIREMENTS
