Overview

Our family is looking for an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Household Manager/Personal Assistant to help oversee the daily operations of our home, family, and properties.

We are a busy family that works from home much of the time and values organization, efficiency, trust, and kindness. We are looking for someone who enjoys wearing many hats and takes pride in making life run smoothly.

This position is ideal for someone who loves organizing, solving problems, coordinating projects, and anticipating needs before they arise. Every day is different, and no task is considered "too small" or "not my job." We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys becoming an essential part of a family's daily life.

Primary ResponsibilitiesHousehold and Property Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the household
  • Create and maintain efficient household systems
  • Coordinate schedules, routines, vendors, and service providers
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs and identify items needing attention
  • Prepare and secure the home before and after family travel
  • Coordinate seasonal household needs
  • Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Meet contractors, obtain bids, and compare estimates
  • Oversee remodeling, construction, landscaping, and maintenance projects
  • Maintain property, maintenance, vendor, and warranty records
  • Help manage pools, spas, irrigation, landscaping, security systems, and smart-home technology

Administrative and Personal Assistance

  • Manage family calendars and appointments
  • Coordinate medical, dental, wellness, school, and activity schedules
  • Organize paper and digital documents
  • Track renewals, licenses, insurance documents, passports, warranties, and deadlines
  • Manage mail, packages, returns, shipping, and important document scanning
  • Complete banking, pharmacy, dry-cleaning, shopping, and other errands
  • Research products, vendors, services, reservations, and family activities
  • Maintain household, vehicle, vendor, staff, and insurance records

Family and Child Support

  • Coordinate children's school, sports, camp, tutoring, and extracurricular schedules
  • Assist with schoolwork and school paperwork when needed
  • Complete registrations and arrange transportation
  • Hire and coordinate babysitters or temporary childcare
  • Help support the family's daily schedule and changing priorities

Household Organization and Inventory

  • Organize closets, pantries, garages, offices, refrigerators, and storage areas
  • Create labeling, filing, and inventory systems
  • Monitor groceries, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, and household essentials
  • Keep staple items stocked and track expiration dates
  • Coordinate seasonal storage, wardrobe rotation, and donations
  • Assist with laundry oversight, dry cleaning, shoe care, and wardrobe organization

Travel, Events, and Lifestyle Assistance

  • Assist with travel planning, packing, unpacking, excursions, and pet-care arrangements
  • Prepare the home before departure and for the family's return
  • Coordinate parties, holidays, family gatherings, and special events
  • Help with seasonal decorating, setup, cleanup, gift purchasing, and gift wrapping
  • Prepare guest rooms and stock guest amenities
  • Make restaurant, spa, club, entertainment, and golf reservations

Vehicles, Pets, and Home Safety

  • Schedule vehicle maintenance, repairs, detailing, oil changes, and tire replacement
  • Coordinate veterinary and grooming appointments
  • Maintain pet and vehicle supply inventories
  • Schedule smoke-detector testing and fire-extinguisher inspections
  • Help monitor home security cameras and smart-home systems

We are looking for someone who understands that no two days will look exactly the same. The right candidate will be willing to help wherever needed and will take pride in becoming a dependable and valuable part of our household.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Household Manager, Estate Manager, Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, Office Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar role
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
  • Valid driver's license, a safe driving history, and reliable transportation
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Professional references that can speak to the candidate's reliability, character, and work performance

Background Check and References

Because this position involves working inside our private residence and regularly being around our children, pets, personal belongings, and confidential family information, a clear background check will be required before employment.

Employment will also be contingent upon the successful verification of professional and personal references. All references will be thoroughly vetted, and candidates should be prepared to provide current contact information for references who can speak directly to their trustworthiness, reliability, judgment, work ethic, and relevant experience.

The selected candidate may also be required to sign a confidentiality and nondisclosure agreement as a condition of employment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting compensation is $30 per hour
  • Raises and performance bonuses are available and will be based on hard work, consistency, reliability, initiative, and overall performance
  • Employees regularly scheduled to work at least 32 hours per week will be eligible for a comprehensive employee benefits package
