What you will be doing:
- Develop detailed HVAC system designs, specifications, and load calculations in compliance with current codes.
- This requires a demonstrated understanding of written and verbal guidelines on elements such as structure, residential construction, material takeoffs, NVR option system, roof framing, panel fabrication, and/or building codes.
- Research and compile information, consulting with project team members and subject matter experts as required, to support overall project completion.
- Maintain assigned portion of the project schedule.
- Review own work for basic technical and quality compliance. Developing ability, experience, and knowledge to meet the full quality and technical standards set by NVR.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or equivalent drafting / AutoCAD work experience
- 1 years’ experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industries
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Writesoft preferred
- Experience with HVAC system design and load calculations (Manual J, S, and D)
- Preferred experience in residential or production homebuilding
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Experience with design development and creation of construction documentation
- High level of attention to detail as well as strong organizational, planning and time management skills
- Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, with effective communication skills
