We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and people-focused Managing Veterinarian (MDVM) to lead our medical team at Adobe Animal Hospital. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about clinical excellence, mentorship, and building a strong, positive hospital culture while continuing to practice high-quality medicine in a hospital setting that provides GP, Urgent Care, and ER services.

Adobe Animal Hospital has proudly served our community since 1964 and is a trusted name for Bay Area pet owners. We operate two hospitals in Los Altos and Los Gatos, providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for small animals and exotic species. Our Los Altos hospital—recognized with a merit award for hospital design—features 18 exam rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, 3 surgical suites, a 3-station dental suite, and a large, well-equipped ICU.

As Managing DVM, you will work closely with hospital leadership to support medical standards, team development, and operational success while maintaining a hands-on clinical role.

We Offer

  • Opportunity to shape hospital culture and medical direction
  • Supportive, collaborative leadership structure
  • In-house blood bank
  • In addition to our award-winning hospital design, we are AAHA-accredited—an honor held by a small percentage of veterinary hospitals nationwide—and were recognized in 2025 as Best Pet Hospital in Los Altos, Best Pet Care in the City of Mountain View, and Best Veterinarian in Palo Alto.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with hospital management on staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization
  • Support associate development through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
  • Continue practicing clinical medicine and surgery as part of your role
  • Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring excellent client experience and trust

  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
