Role Summary
As a FAE Manager, you will lead a team of Field Application Engineers supporting Nuvoton’s semiconductor product lines across the Americas. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, driving customer success, design-wins, and ecosystem enablement. You will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and business unit teams to ensure technical excellence, regional alignment, and scalable customer support execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of FAEs, fostering technical growth, proactive customer engagement, and strong collaboration across sales and marketing functions.
- Establish customer support process and best practices, ensuring consistent field execution aligned with business objectives.
- Lead technical training of Nuvoton’s customers, sales representatives, and distribution partners.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex customer issues requiring cross-functional coordination with US, Taiwan and Japan based R&D, AE, and business teams.
- Drive hands-on evaluations, reference designs, and proof-of-concept projects to highlight Nuvoton differentiation in target applications such as industrial automation and IoT/Edge AI.
- Represent Nuvoton at industry events, workshops, and conferences, delivering high-impact technical presentations and reinforcing the brand’s technical credibility.
- Support go-to-market strategies and product launches with technical expertise.
- Capture and analyze competitive intelligence, application trends, and customer insights to drive regional strategy, enhance Nuvoton’s competitive positioning, and communicate clear value propositions that empower sales teams and strengthen customer engagement.
Technical Knowledge Requirements
- Expertise in MCU/MPU architectures (ARM Cortex-M0/M23/M4/M33/M55 and Cortex-A families), system-level design, and integration of low-power, mixed-signal, and secure embedded systems.
- Proficiency in embedded C/C , RTOS development (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), and toolchains (Keil, IAR, GCC, Nuvoton NuTool suite).
- Strong understanding of hardware bring-up, firmware debugging, and signal integrity using JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Working knowledge of industrial and IoT connectivity standards (USB, CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, BLE, Matter).
- Experience supporting applications in industrial automation, IoT/Edge AI, motor control, and energy/power systems.
- Expertise with audio products both at IC and system level is a major plus.
- Expertise with Battery Management (energy storage) systems is a major plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- 15 years of experience in applications or systems engineering within the semiconductor or embedded systems industry, including 3 years leading or mentoring technical teams.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional engineering teams, define priorities, and manage customer-facing technical operations.
- Hands-on management with the ability and willingness to take on technical tasks directly as needed.
- Demonstrated success in driving design-wins through technical leadership, customer engagement, and solution differentiation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; capable of influencing across regional and global organizations.
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate customer needs into technical and business outcomes.
- Willingness to travel regionally (up to ~35%) for customer visits, and team engagements.
