Job Summary
Preventing and fixing problems on technologically advanced, high-speed machines that produce top-notch products for agricultural producers is no easy feat, but it's worth it when you're recognized often by your manager, supported by your team, and can see the products you produce being used on farms throughout the state. The night maintenance/mechanic employee must be able to perform preventative maintenance on feed mill related equipment, as well as repair and install equipment as necessary. The maintenance/mechanic employee must be able to detect potential mechanical and electrical problems, maintain the required written records including work performed, corrective actions and installed replacement parts. The maintenance/mechanic employee must work in compliance with all company policies, Local, State and Federal policies, laws, and regulations.
Essential Duties
· Detect any potential electrical or mechanical problems
· Check that equipment is functioning properly
· Communicate actions taken to correct equipment problems
· Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
· Perform preventive maintenance according to a posted schedule
· Maintain E and I Technician License and take on going training
· Use specialized tools and instruments to troubleshoot, repair and program electrical equipment
· Work with programmers of PLC's, VFDs and other control hardware
· Maintain a clean work area to prevent contamination of product
· Perform complex electrical repairs on equipment
· Have a working knowledge of the NEC code and NFPA 70E, its interpretation and implementation
· Provide feedback to the maintenance team to help modify existing equipment and improve the design of future equipment
· Maintain, inspect, and modify electrical equipment, technologies, and processes
· Perform preventative maintenance of electrical circuits
· Install new electrical circuits
· Bend and install electrical circuits following all appropriate local and national codes
· Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified
· Provide coverage for maintenance manager when on vacation or otherwise unavailable
Additional Duties
· Operate a forklift, loader, and 180ft telescopic boom lift
· Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
· All candidates for this position are required to submit a resume and/or detailed work history demonstrating their skills relating to the basic qualifications listed below to be eligible for this position
· Three (3) or more years of experience as an industrial mechanic, millwright, or maintenance mechanic in an industrial, agricultural, manufacturing or military environment
· Two (2) year completed technical degree in electromechanical or industrial maintenance
· Ability to lift 100 pounds on occasion and climb ladders
· Ability to work at heights of 200 feet and in confined spaces
