We’re growing and seeking a passionate and dedicated Pharmacy Technicians to join our Elk Grove team. This will be a variable schedule from 7am-8pm.

SUMMARY

Assists Pharmacist by performing pharmacy technician duties per state law and regulation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned at any time via verbal or written instructions.

  • Ensures that compounding and record keeping are performed in a timely and efficient manner according to law and regulation, while maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and efficient compounding area of the pharmacy.
  • Performs sterile compounding of intravenous medications, TPN, antibiotics, and hydration.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of large volume IV solutions, electrolytes, and supplies.
  • Maintain lab logs as described in Nutrishare policy and procedures (daily and monthly cleaning of lab, lab QA/QC logs, temperature logs).
  • Assist with warehouse and pharmacy office duties as needed.
  • Assists Pharmacist, as needed, in preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, and other duties.
  • Assists in training of new pharmacy personnel.
  • May be cross trained in other departments as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned at any time via verbal or written instructions.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. IV experience preferred, but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must be able to accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Pharmacy Technician License.

Employees must be able to provide proof of personal auto insurance if requested.

A minimum of two hours of job-related service and/or continuing education is required annually.

  • Clean Room Setting: You will spend the majority of your time working within a controlled clean room environment designed to minimize airborne particles and contaminants.
  • Hard Surfaces: Tasks will be performed on hard surfaces, necessitating the use of appropriate footwear and ergonomic practices to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Fluorescent Lighting: Work areas are illuminated by fluorescent lighting, providing consistent brightness for precision tasks.
  • Computer Use: Utilize screens or computers for data entry, documentation, and following procedural guidelines throughout an 8-hour workday.
  • Sterile Conditions: Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and gowning procedures to prevent contamination of pharmaceutical products.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
