In this vital role, you will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, components, and packaging at real-time market pricing, directly impacting our profitability and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively seek out new suppliers and sourcing channels in response to industry shifts, availability issues, or customer-specific ingredient standards.
- Vet and validate raw materials during the quoting process to ensure compliance with client specifications and smooth transition into production once a Purchase Order (PO) is placed.
- Create relationships with vendors for future raw material needs.
- Provide updated pricing for prior quotes when original pricing becomes obsolete or requires adjustment.
- Maintain and update raw materials, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and job components with current pricing and formulation changes prior to batch records and production release.
- Enter new job information and specifications into the ERP system (Deacom) when purchase orders are received and Standard Formulation Packets (SFPs) need to be created.
- Efficiently operate the ERP system with raw materials, orders, inventories, etc.
- Deliver completed quotes and product expectations to the sales team within 72 hours of the initial request.
- Communicate efficiently and promptly with sales representatives regarding quote progress, pricing updates, and material availability.
- Recommend suitable alternative ingredients or components when items are unavailable or do not meet minimum order quantities (MOQs).
- Maintain close attention to detail to catch mistakes before the PO is placed and pricing needs adjustment with the customer.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of Quoting experience
- High School Diploma.
- Bilingual: Must speak, read, and write English.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing is a plus but not required.
