Position Summary
The Accounting Associate supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience across multiple accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Review, code, and enter invoices and expense reports
- Support payroll processing and related recordkeeping, as needed
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with monthend close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Support fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
- Respond to internal inquiries regarding accounting transactions
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 01 year of accounting or finance experience (internships and relevant coursework accepted)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in an accounting career
Preferred Skills
- Internship or parttime experience in accounting or finance
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
- Interest in pursuing CPA or other accounting certifications
