Salary Range
$120,000 - $150,000 a year
- 5 years hands-on lab experience (EMC preferred, automotive electrical testing considered)
- EMC test equipment operation: Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters
- Vehicle EMC test methodologies: Radiated Emissions, onboard emissions, radiated immunity
- Vehicle communication tools: CANalyzer or similar for ECU interface
- Test script development: Bash, Python or similar for automation
- Electric vehicle architecture knowledge, vehicle mechanical work including disassembly, harness modifications, fuse replacements, LV/HV systems
- Automotive EMC standards: ISO, SAE, UNECE-R10

Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Preparation and Bring-Up
- Communicate with vehicle program teams for timelines and test plans
- Prepare prototype vehicles for EMC testing: install fiber optic converters, current probes, test harnesses
- Bring up vehicle systems: HV battery, communication buses
- Coordinate firmware flashing and test mode activation with software teams
- Execute Radiated/Conducted Emissions and Immunity test cases
- Develop and use scripts (Bash, Python or similar) for vehicle functions and bus monitoring (CAN/LIN/Ethernet)
- Log vehicle configurations, software versions, hardware revisions
- Conduct in-house testing and travel to external labs
- Coordinate with lab technicians for dynamometer/turntable setups
- Schedule vehicle and equipment movement to test facilities
- Troubleshoot EMC test failures with module swaps and experiments
- Capture and analyze raw test data for trends/anomalies
- Verify hardware fixes (ferrites, grounding) through testing
- Support EMC failure resolution with design team
- Maintain in-house test setups and instrumentation calibration
- Support component EMC testing, RF performance, Low Voltage tests as needed
- Vehicle EMC simulation familiarity: ANSYS, CST or similar
