Job Overview
Nurturing Young Minds Child Care is a vibrant and nurturing childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment for children aged 0-12 We are committed to fostering a love of learning, building strong social-emotional skills, and supporting the holistic development of each child.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Center Director to lead the team at one of our facilities located in and around the city of Danville, Virginia and ensure the smooth operation of that child care center. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and compassionate leader with a proven track record in early childhood education and a deep understanding of best practices in child development.
Duties
Leadership and Management:
- Oversee all aspects of the start-up of a new child care facility including licensing, marketing, enrollment building.
- Oversee all aspects of the center's daily operations, including staff supervision, curriculum development, and program implementation.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Manage center budget, resources, and supplies effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, licensing requirements, and safety protocols.
Curriculum and Programming:
- Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with best practices in early childhood education.
- Supervise and guide teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and child assessment.
- Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction.
Parent Communication and Engagement:
- Establish and maintain strong communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
- Organize parent meetings and events to foster a sense of community and shared responsibility.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, ensuring their trust and satisfaction.
Staff Development and Training:
- Recruit, hire, and train qualified and passionate early childhood educators.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the center.
Marketing and Outreach:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the center and attract new families.
- Build relationships with community organizations and schools to expand outreach and visibility.
Other Responsibilities:
- Manage enrollment and waitlist processes.
- Respond to inquiries from prospective families.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay abreast of current trends in early childhood education.

Experience
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
