Position Summary
NHH is seeking dedicated Independent Contractors – Respite Care Providers to join our Atlanta team. Respite Care Providers offer direct support to children and individuals with special needs, providing caregivers with support and temporary caregiving relief.

- Consistent and reliable—last-minute cancellations or no-shows are not acceptable, as families depend on your presence
- Hands-on and actively engaged in supporting and guiding others
- Committed to client safety, dignity, and well-being at all times
- Respectful of confidentiality, privacy, and individual rights
Qualifications/Education
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Enrollment or degree in psychology, education, ABA, nursing, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience with individuals with developmental, emotional, or behavioral needs
- Experience with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, or similar conditions preferred
- Must pass a criminal background check, provide verifiable references, and have reliable transportation
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Completion of required NHH onboarding and safety training
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including some weekends and evenings
Job Duties
Families seeking Respite Care Providers for their loved ones typically need extra help and support with daily tasks. Specific responsibilities/duties will vary based on each family’s needs and will be communicated during the client assignment. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing in-home care for designated hours during the day or night
- Assisting with daily living activities, play, or outdoor experiences
- Supporting clients during medical appointments or community outings
- Assisting with transportation and trips outside the home
- Providing support with homework or educational activities
- Helping maintain consistent routines related to behavior, sleep, toileting, or eating
- Modeling calm, positive behavior and fostering joyful, meaningful interactions with individuals of diverse abilities

Pay/Compensation
$20.00/hour
Additional Information
This is an Independent Contractor (1099) position
Work is performed in person at family homes or community-based settings
