Salary: $130,000–$140,000 $5,000 Sign-On Bonus
Schedule: Monday–Friday (with weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call as needed)
NurseAmerica is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) living in Belmont, CA to lead clinical operations for a senior living community in (location TBD). Position Overview
The Director of Nursing oversees all nursing operations to ensure exceptional resident care, optimal clinical outcomes, and full compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate resident admissions, review medical assessments, and determine care needs
- Collaborate with physicians and department leaders to coordinate care plans
- Coordinate services with external providers including pharmacies, home health, hospice, and rehab
- Meet with residents and families to address concerns and support positive resident experiences
- Lead Health Maintenance meetings and continuously update individualized service plans
- Oversee accuracy of clinical documentation and medication records
- Represent the community in professional events and maintain strong relationships with referral partners
- Lead recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing training for nursing staff
- Supervise and evaluate licensed nursing personnel
- Participate in departmental budgeting and monitor staffing levels, labor cost, supplies, and clinical quality indicators
- Ensure resident rights, confidentiality, and safety
- Report any concerns related to elder abuse or neglect
- Monitor regulatory compliance and support continuous quality improvement
- Attend required training, continuing education, and professional development programs
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 3 years of nursing leadership experience within senior living or home care
- Strong knowledge of State and Federal senior living regulations
- Exceptional communication, leadership, organization, and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new clinical software systems
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs and assist with emergency evacuations
- Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure situations
