Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Credit Analyst. The Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating customer credit risk, monitoring accounts receivable exposure, and supporting timely cash collection while maintaining strong internal and external customer relationships. This role partners closely with Sales, Accounting, Shipping, and customers to ensure credit decisions support profitable growth while adhering to Nucor's risk management standards. The ideal candidate is a driven, selfsufficient teammate who demonstrates enthusiasm, ownership, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to driving continuous improvement and results.
This position is on-site in Apple Grove, WV and will not have the opportunity to work remotely. This greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, Nucor Steel West Virginia will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Review new customer credit applications and analyze financial statements to determine appropriate credit limits and terms
- Monitor customer accounts daily to manage risk exposure, make informed credit decisions, release shipments for creditheld accounts, and address past due balances.
- Perform customer account reconciliations and communicate with customers regarding open, disputed, or aged items
- Support accounts receivable functions including invoice creation, applying customer payments, and performing daily cash balancing.
- Collaborate with customers, Sales, Shipping, and Technical Services to resolve billing, claims, and collection issues
- Assist with month-end closing activities and produce routine and ad-hoc reports related to credit, revenue, and receivables
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
- Maintain compliance with internal control requirements and exercise accountability for assigned financial control processes
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist the Finance department
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, OR
Equivalent combination of education and extensive relevant work experience in accounts receivable, commercial credit, or collections.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
Experience in commercial credit and collections
Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
Manufacturing or industrial environment experience
