Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Automation & Controls Engineering Intern is to contribute to the Nucor team, focusing on achieving exceptional results in the areas of safety, cost, and reliability. The role will be hands-on and interactive with the maintenance and production teams in the field. The selected candidate’s job responsibilities will include:
- Learning automation/control and process fundamentals involved in steel making.
- Maintenance/Engineering projects focused on safety, cost, and reliability.
- Preventive & predictive maintenance programs and routines.
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment and process related issues.
- Learning and applying new skills in automation, controls, power transmission and pneumatics. The role of the Automation & Controls Engineering Intern is to contribute to the Nucor team, focusing on achieving exceptional results in the areas of safety, cost, and reliability. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Rising Junior or Senior.
- Fundamental knowledge of automation and controls.
- Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
