Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Financial Analyst. Responsibilities include but are not limited to producing monthly financial statements and reports, forecasting capital expenditures and operational expenses, and providing various cost analysis and divisional comparisons. The Financial Analyst will partner with Operations and Maintenance teammates in creating, tracking, and managing cost estimates and budgets for capital projects. The ideal candidate is a self-sufficient professional who will be able to provide valuable insights and recommendations on budgeting, investment opportunities, and other financial matters to support the division’s growth and success. This position is on-site in Apple Grove, WV and will not have the opportunity to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis
- Connect financial and production metrics that drive sustainable success in profitability
- Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports to management.

Forecasting
- Create and maintain templates to gather critical forecast information for financial modeling
- Conduct routine variance analysis to share data-driven trends with decision makers

Collaboration:
- Work together with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with and support accounting department objectives
Nucor Steel West Virginia's greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, Nucor Steel West Virginia will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
- 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience creating Microsoft Power BI dashboards
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Financial reporting and analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cost accounting or capital expenditure tracking
- Data analysis related to financial performance
