The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and processing outgoing shipments to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient delivery of products. This role works closely with production, sales, and logistics teams to verify orders, prepare shipping documentation, and maintain accurate records of all shipments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping & Order Fulfillment
- Prepare, review, and process outgoing shipments in accordance with company standards
- Verify shipping orders for accuracy, including quantities, destinations, and special instructions
- Coordinate shipment schedules to ensure on-time delivery
- Package, label, and stage products for shipment as needed
- Arrange freight shipments and coordinate with carriers
Documentation & Recordkeeping
- Generate and maintain shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and records in internal systems
- Track shipments and update status in company databases
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company procedures
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with production, Parts and Warranty teams to align shipping priorities
- Communicate shipment details and updates to internal teams and customers as needed
- Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, or issues in a timely manner
- Coordinate with carriers and vendors regarding pickups, deliveries, and scheduling
Inventory & Accuracy
- Verify inventory availability prior to shipment
- Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation as needed
- Ensure proper handling and storage of outgoing goods
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping and staging area
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in shipping and logistics processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred
- Basic computer skills and experience with shipping or ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift and move materials as required
Work Environment
- Warehouse and/or production environment
