Position Summary
Develops and supports the core the government program platform end to end, spanning the Appian case management system, the Drupal External Filer portal, the Apache Kafka event-streaming platform, and Tableau reporting. Sets development standards, crafts architecture that integrates securely with existing infrastructure, and leads major design decisions in close coordination with the Federal Project Manager, Product Owner, and Business Analysts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Support and develop the Appian platform, Drupal CMS, Apache Kafka, and related program technologies end to end.
• Work with the Federal PM, Product Owner, and BA to translate functional requirements into technical requirements.
• Provide input to major design decisions and prioritization of technical debt and bugs.
• Design and develop the system to set the standard for future development; craft architecture that works with existing infrastructure without compromising security.
• Identify and introduce new platform-based solutions to help users meet requirements.
• Document system architecture, root cause analyses, and other technical documentation.
• Provide leadership, analysis, and solutioning to resolve system defects and bugs.
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree and 6 years supporting major IT systems.
• Full-stack development with React.js, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Cloud services experience: AWS and Azure (including Azure-to-AWS migration).
• Appian, GitLab, Drupal, Cosmos DB, Apache Kafka, JavaScript, NetApp, Oracle, and complex SQL queries.
• Standardized DevOps practices; Azure/AWS DevOps.
• Kubernetes, Redis, GraphQL, and Lambda.
• JMeter for performance testing.
• JIRA.
Preferred (Optional) Skills and Experience:
• Experience supporting foreign labor case management systems with public-facing web interfaces.
• EKS right-sizing and container cost optimization.
• Ability to introduce new solutions to enhance existing workflows in an Azure/AWS DevOps environment.
