We are currently seeking a WSS Engineer / Epic Client System Administrator (ECSA) - Remote to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).
An Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) plays a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure and backend systems that allow Epic applications to function efficiently in a healthcare setting. Typical job responsibilities of an Epic ECSA include
System Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain Epic servers and related infrastructure (Hyperspace, Interconnect, web servers).
- Ensure proper configuration of system components like Chronicles, Cache/IRIS, and application middleware.
- Apply patches, updates, and hotfixes as needed.
- Monitor server and application performance (CPU, memory, disk I/O, etc.).
- Tune system settings to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot issues related to system slowness or failures.
- Manage non-production and production environments (such as PRD, POC, TST, DEV, and TRN).
- Coordinate environment refreshes, migrations, and system cloning.
- Ensure proper environment isolation and naming conventions.
- Implement and maintain Epic system security best practices (including user authentication, firewall rules, certificates).
- Ensure systems comply with healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
- Monitor and manage audit logs, encryption, and access controls.
- Work closely with Epic application teams, infrastructure teams (network, storage, virtualization), and third-party vendors
- Provide operations support for Epic-related issues
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support when needed
