Overview
Our client is seeking a Sourcing Buyer to manage high-volume and complex procurement activities within a fast-paced service and repair environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for navigating multiple Oracle screens to manage the flow of information and ensure the timely acquisition of parts. This role demands high situational awareness and the ability to manage a heavy communication load while prioritizing urgent production and downtime requirements.
Responsibilities
• Navigate multiple Oracle screens (OSCAR and PASCAL) daily to manage buyer-side data and workflows.
• Manage high-volume procurement tasks and complex sourcing requirements simultaneously.
• Coordinate closely with suppliers to expedite parts and minimize production downtime.
• Maintain a high level of communication with internal stakeholders to manage expectations and priority shifts.
• Execute "farm-out" and repair sourcing work, aligning with service workflows for turbo machinery or aero derivative products.
• Ensure organized and detailed tracking of all procurement activities and system entries.
• Execute the end-to-end lifecycle of Purchase Orders (POs) and Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs) in Oracle, including requisition validation, supplier setup verification, and payment follow-up.
• Manage relationships with suppliers to handle RFQs, material expediting, and specialized farm-out/repair activities via email and Microsoft Teams.
• Navigate Oracle screens to monitor inventory, supply/demand, and PO history; translate this data into Excel-based reports to support production meetings and planning updates.
• Facilitate BPO releases and high-volume, short-cycle repair activities to ensure seamless material flow for production schedules.
• Maintain precise digital records and PO attachments to ensure full auditability and clarity of technical requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Sourcing.
• Expert-level proficiency in Oracle OSCAR and Oracle PASCAL with hands-on buyer-side experience.
• Strong ability to navigate multiple ERP modules and understand complex information flows.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong buyer mindset with high situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Confident and professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills to handle urgent, short-cycle procurement needs.
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with an understanding of industry cycles and production urgency.
• Background in Service, Repair, or Maintenance (MRO) environments, specifically supporting repair shops.
• Experience supporting aeroderivative products or turbomachinery repair/services (e.g., buckets, nozzles, overhaul components).
• Previous experience with SAP or other modern ERP systems, provided there is a clear understanding of buyer navigation logic.
