Lead Worker, Material Prep (Swing Shift)

Shift - Swings

Hours - 3:00 pm to 1:30 am Monday through Thursday (and overtime as required)

Performs the following types of duties: High level of communication between operators, other departments and management. Highly motivated employee, who is able to work with little or no supervision, performs tasks such as printing work orders, handling returns, communicating with Warehouse, handling problems that arise on the production floor. Leads team meetings to discuss production goals, ensures area is maintaining appropriate schedule compliance numbers, provides support to Supervisor in assigned tasks. Able to lead the team in all aspects of Quality, Cost and Customer Service. Proactively works to apply continuous improvement attitude. Other assignments as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, communicates and leads in assigned area
• Ensure structure is in place to allow area to meet production schedules and maintain appropriate level of schedule compliance
• Ensures all quality standards and SOP's are followed by the team
• Helps motivate and lead the team, also creates team unity among both shifts
• Works directly with Supervisor on assigned tasks
• Directly coordinates and communicates daily schedule with all areas and Production Scheduler
• Also communicates with other areas and departments to ensure proper flow of material is available for production needs
• Works as a team to maintain a positive work environment
• Knowledge of computer processes
• Able to perform all necessary tasks to complete job requirements
• Prints and completes applicable documentation including pick sheets, work orders & line clearances
• Inputs feedback of materials in computer
• Operates material handling equipment and pallet jacks
• Leads daily huddles and team meetings to discuss production levels, equipment maintenance and quality needs
• Fill in for production operators when needed
• Training, and other related duties
• QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent experience in Material Prep
• Familiarity with products and manufacturing procedures in Material Prep, Processing and Packaging
• Knowledge of work order narratives and proper procedures involved in following them
• Knowledge of SOPs in cGMP's
• Skill in leading a team.
• Skilled in the use of work orders
• General computer skills
• Basic math skills required
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Must be able to positively influence coworkers, peers, and management
• Ability to coordinate with all areas to allow weekly production schedules to be met
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers on all shifts
• Must be a self-motivated employee
• Able to work with little supervision
• Must be willing to work overtime to complete some projects that cannot be left unfinished
• The position requires the ability to help in multiple areas in manufacturing including material prep, processing and packaging
